March SOTM Blog Hop - CTMH

Welcome to the March Stamp of the Month Blog Hop.  If you arrived here from Nancy's Blog, you're on the right track.

For my Stamp of the Month contribution, I'm featuring project #11 on my Wishes Project - Lucky Layers.

In the card above, I rotated the pattern 180 degrees from the way it was pictured in Wishes.
I rotated this card 90 degrees.
Design/Pattern Tip
Don't be afraid to mix things up and turn things around.  I wasn't really digging this pattern when I first cut the paper and layed it out on my card....but since I'm on a "mission" to work my way through the book.  There is no cheating or skipping so I had to keep going with it.
Here are a few things to try if you find yourself struggling like I did...

  • Flip your papers over and see if the patterns on the other side work better.
  • Rotate your card 90 degrees at a time.
  • Rotate your saying or main image
  • Add embellishments, sponging, distressing.....

I hope this helps you the next time one of your designs just isn't working for ya!

Wishes #6 Simply Said

I'm working my way through the Wishes Card Confidence Program.  One pattern at a time, in order...and today we're on pattern number 6.  To see all the other Wishes posts simply click on the word Wishes Project in the sidebar under labels.  Ready to purchase your own copy and play along?  Email me to place your order or visit my website and order online.

Ooops, it looks like I never posted this...dang...now they're out of order.

This is a clean and simple pattern and I kept it that way because I needed to make quite a few Thank You cards for the holidays.  These cards fit in #10 envelopes with a little room left over.

Supplies Used:
Paper is from a retired Paper Pack (sorry, using up some of my stash!)
D1361 Thank You
Chocolate Ink

Scrapbooking! You Rock Sneak Peek!

Woo Hoo!  We had a four day weekend and hubby is home, but I still snuck in some scrapbooking time!!  I have been soooo bad lately.  I keep making sample layouts for my crops, but I haven't been putting pictures on.  One of my goals is to be better about that...

And soooo...here's a sneak peek at one of the extra layouts I designed using the You Rock paper pack.  I used the WOTG on the go kit and already created the layout and cards featured in the instructions.  Then I took my leftover pieces to make this layout.  (I had to add two pieces of Indian Corn Blue cardstock to do this layout.)

This layout is using the Diaglogue pattern in the Imagine book.  If you look at the two pictures at the bottom left of this layout....see the torn paper... in the book, that was at the top of the photo.  I just flipped it over so it was on the botttom of my photo so it would look like snow topped mountains....

Wishes Project #10 Well Rounded

These little cards were so fun to make!  I re-visited the hedgehog stamp set from the Twitterpated Workshop on the Go.  I love this little set!

The cards are 3.5 x 2.5 and go together really quick.  Perfect for a little note in a lunch box, suitcase, left on a pillow....

Valentine Workshop - Part 1

I did a mini valentine workshop at the house on Saturday (4 people).  It was fun.  I loved putting it together and spending the afternoon with some great ladies!!

Here are two of the projects we did.  I still need to photograph the other two...ooops....

I used a Wishes pattern to create the front of the card....

And the inside pops out.  Too cute and super easy!!

The card below was designed by my good friend Gail.  I had to change it up a little to use stamps and products I had on hand...but it's pretty close to the one she swapped at our unit meeting.  Thanks Gail!!

Hearts for Haiti

It has been great to see such a huge outpouring of love and support for Haiti.  Everywhere you go there are opportunities for giving and many have already given so much.  Today I am excited to share a way that you can continue to help support the efforts in Haiti while getting a great deal!!!

Hearts for Haiti

Our hearts go out to the victims of the earthquake in Haiti, and like so many of you, we’re eager to help. And helping has never been easier! Throughout February, purchase a 12" × 12" textured cardstock combo pack and you’ll get one free—and with every offer purchased, Close To My Heart will donate $2 US to Operation Smile’s Haiti relief efforts. That means for only $14.95 US/$17.50 CAN, you get two packs of our high-quality textured cardstock and you help this urgent, important cause.

Operation Smile is always a fantastic charitable partner—offering free facial reconstruction surgeries to needy children throughout the world. They’ve currently marshaled their medical teams and resources to provide emergency relief in Haiti, and the donations given as part of Hearts for Haiti will be used exclusively for Operation Smile’s efforts in Haiti.

Here's a link to Operation Smile's blog on their relief efforts in Haiti.  I hope you'll visit!!  It is fascinating
Textured Cardstock...
I actually used several pieces of textured cardstock for the card bases in yesterdays' post!  I didn't know about this promotion when I decided to use it, but now I am so grateful that I did!

One of the things I love about textured cardstock is that it is two-toned.  One side is a darker shade of color than the other side!!  This makes it PERFECT for card bases!  I like to use the darker side on the outside and the lighter side inside where you write your message.

Stay tuned!  I hope to put together a fun post featuring more benefits of textured cardstock for tomorrow.

How to order:
You can order online anytime at http://www.stamptildawn.myctmh.com/

Want to add it to your regular order?  No problem!  Contact me via email or at the next workshop or gathering and I'll help you with it.

Do you know more scrapbookers that don't attend my workshops?  Here's your chance to share the gorgeous Close To My Heart products and help Haiti too.  Why not gather a few orders from friends?  Gather enough for a party ($150) and you can have the hostess rewards too!!

From me to Operation Smile
On a personal note, I will be rounding-up all of the orders I receive this month as part of our normal Operation Smile program via Close To My Heart.
